Went to this supposedly iconic gastro pub yesterday lunchtime.
Unfortunately, despite all of the Jamie Oliver books and memorabilia on sale there was nothing of his culinary skill in evidence.

Grilled sardines that had been grilled so long that they would have confessed to any number of heinous crimes, none of which could be worse than the crime of overcooking this simple and straightforward dish.

When the waitress asked if everything was ok I said that the fish was overcooked and dry. She asked if we would like some sauce on it.

We got a full refund.

In summary: overpriced, overhyped, and overcooked. Don't go there.
There are hundreds of pubs serving better food at cheaper prices.

And Jamie, have a word with yer parents!!!
This isn't just a thousand to one shot. This is a professional blood sport. It can happen to you. And it can happen again.

There was a ride, I think organised by Mike, which took us to this pub.

The feature of the visit was the idiosyncratic manner of a member of the serving staff.

It was the turning of the leaves ride, my very first yacf foray

The food was rather good, but it should have been for £15-17 per head!

That waitress was rather odd, shall we say  ;)
