Wot Teethgrinder said.

There should be a charge for any on-street parking.
It is simpler than it looks.

Good logic Toothy.
Just need an MOT and insurance though...
That may not be cheap for a van.
But still less expensive than renting a garage for bikes.

Ah! But Teethgrinder said that his space is off-road, so he only needs a SORN...

(However, I suspect that there'll be a restrictive covenant in the deeds banning the parking of caravans, commercial vehicles, or unroadworthy vehicles...)

Of course, he could rent his space to a neighbour...  ;D

My deeds forbid commercial vehicles (which of course is ignored by 1-in-10 neighbours) - I assume "unbranded" vans are exempt - can't remember the  exact wording.

As our "road" is unadopted by the council, does SORN also apply?

isnt this debate a bit silly.

cars and cycles belong on the road

peds belong on the pavement

cars should be in parking bays or car parks. hence why they are called car parks.

end of story!
