Non-cycling injuries

Bruising coming out nicely... (Dread to think what the actual point of the break looks like)

Inside:

More later in the week when I get the x-rays from the fracture clinic. Looking forward to seeing the metalwork...  ;D

That looks really nasty!  I retract everything I've said about bikes and suggest you concentrate on rest, physioterrorism and one-handed bitching on the interwebs.

FBOAB, that bone looks rather thin and fragile; I really wouldn't bother with the turbo for the full 8 weeks. Sorry!

(I love the way you can clearly see the boy scout cardboard splint that the first responder, with a little help from No2Son, cobbled together while we waited for the full size ambwlans.)

I think I can see at least 4 bits of radius.
Even if the two biggest bits are tacked together with metalwork, the other bits need to heal/resorb/reshape.
Do as your surgeon says!

Well, y'know our boab.  If she does summat, she does it boab-wording properly....

My x-ray was so pathetically uninteresting I didn't even bother to get a photo of it.  And there wasn't any blood at all....

Agreed, you don't do things by halves do you! The bruising is impressive.

that looks rather more complex than I had envisaged and the surgeons 8 weeks now seems more reasonable.

Not a patch on madame's but Ouch! Hurty! nevertheless was this, caused by bare feet, haste and a glossy magazine on carpet. Collision with the bannister rail.

No broken metatarsals but impressive bruising, the whole foot eventually turning yellow and green - ish.

The irony was slipping on a copy of 'Healthy Living' or something similar.

VELOMANCER

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

If you can clutch at straws with that arm, you are doing well . . .

That's a good and proper break - I've seen worse, but they were horses and I had to shoot them afterwards.

Pls to not be shooting fboab?  That might make me Very Grumpy.  And I don't think you'd like me much when I am Very Grumpy.

So. Back to the hozzie. Appointment 3:10, see nurse 4:55.
Cast off (noooooooo, I feel so exposed and unsupported) splint on, and inbetween we take out the stitches.
You'll want to have had your tea before you look at these, mebbes.

Coming along nicely!

What on earth did you do to yourself?

Is that speckled effect the injury or the cure?
