I was just curious, after having a pile of scans done recently, just how much juice does one of these beasts consume?

According this, 2kW, but collating that with info from elsewhere, that is peak power usage, so only when the scanner is in use.

The rest of the time it "only" use 1.2kW, and they need to be on all the time (the warm up time is so large that it is not worth switching them off).

Depends on the model but the standard Siemens one uses upto 3.1kw when ramped up. Which is about the same as my fast boil kettle. That's from looking at the back of the I spend a lot of time in. I calls her Bertha.

The thing is, my kettle doesn't need a 3ph 415v power supply.
