Deep Blue Sea, the film-of-the-Terrence Rattigan play, with Rachel Weisz. Rachel Weisz was great.
It was all a bit Anna Karenin, unsurprisingly, but riveting, and they had tried hard to replicate the symbolism of the stage version, into the film. Crusty was ready to spork himself in the eye by the end. I loved it. Except the music, which made its point too well, and too often.
And the funny thing is, we've been talking about it ever since, as there was so much in it that was real - fear of being lonely, hopeless first love, infatuation.
On the whole, 7/10.
