Routes through Lyons
« on: 19 October, 2013, 10:25:22 am »
Hi

I'm planning a ride down France through Burgundy and via through the Rhone valley. It needs to follow a relatively flat route for various reasons.

The major obstacle is Lyon. It seems a very long way round  to avoid it and I know there are hilly bits either side which doesn't fit with the flattish requirement. Having driven through Lyon several times it doesn't seem to be the best place to cycle, but perhaps I'm wrong?

Any knowledge / advice gratefully received.

Thanks

Done it when we rode the length of France - no problem - segregated cycle path for the whole way.  PM me with an e-mail addy and I'll give you details and a map extract.

Also have a look at  www.cycle-endtoend.org.uk  and the Journals for France .... Wine-ding Down Through France - that's me and our ride in 2008 - being repeated in 2014
