Still no sign of a completed takeover.

Back up in bankruptcy court this week.

It's getting to the stage where the National League may consider expelling Southend as they have done with other clubs over their inability to show they can complete the next season

Another transfer embargo in place now for Southend & whilst other clubs are arranging pre season friendlies, Southend have another fixture in the Winding Up Court in 5 1/2 weeks time

Still no sign of a completion of the takeover, or of either Martin or the Consortium paying off the solicitors bill that has lead to the winding up petition.

Wonder if the National League will take action at their AGM - ie will the impose a points deduction or worse, expel Southend from the National League if this matter is not resolved before then

Ron Martin has played everyone for fools here.

He had his planning permission for stadium & houses on the Fossetts Farm site. It was totally unsuitable because the road infrastructure is already under a lot of pressure because of the geographical layout of the town. Putting a 21,000 seat stadium to the east of the bottlenecks (railway bridges) would be sheer stupidity. But the council approved it (I spoke at the council meeting opposing this folly).

Now the plan has changed and there is no stadium to be built, Ron Martin still wants to go ahead and build. But of course the council has to approve an entirely new set of plans. This takes time, but my understanding is that RM is refusing to sign away his ownership until the council have approved planning permission on this new scheme. That way, if the club goes under, he can blame the council for not giving him the permission required.

His involvement here was always about making Ron Martin even richer, and was never anything to do with his "love" of SUFC.
