Around 20mm in the early hours, then drizzle, until I went out for a ride around 1:30 when it was typical dreich wet for an hour, and 9C, here in leafy Bucks.

It's hardly even rained on the Isle ov Man so far this week, which is highly unusual when the TT is on

Finally, some rain! The plants will be very glad.

It was lovely in the very north of scotlandshire from Tuesday afternoon, until I left yesterday.*

*it is probably still lovely, but I am no longer there.
It is simpler than it looks.

I decided not to go out and massacre various green things in the front yard because rain.  Which it then didn’t.

Bah!

It won’t be by the time I've had me tea.  What a pity.

I still have half a (new) fence to paint but it's too damp and cold for that.

Two friends of mine are currently cycling in Harris, having started in Castlebay last week, and are sending lovely photographs of blue sea, blue sky, while sandy beaches and happy, happy cyclists.

The windows in my drum have today been switched to summer mode, in which they will stay until such time as the weather dictates otherwise.

Bedroom. Sash x 2. Locked open 50mm gap at the top of both.
Office. Sash x 1. Locked open 15mm gap at bottom (< than squirrel size), 60mm gap at top because convection/circulation.
Or something.
Bathroom. Casement x 1. Locked fully open.
Kitchen. Casement x 1. Opened and closed throughout the year, as kitchen conditions dictate.

ETA - Also, a few weeks ago I removed 3.5 Togs from my quilt. I suspect that in the next few weeks they will replace the remaining 11 Togs.

We're promised a "plume" of heat from the Sahara for the next few days, with temperatures "between extreme and record". Oh joy.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

We've been promised the northern edge of said plume* but it’s only going to get Stinking Hot on Friday before a marauding Pictish cold front comes south and precipitates thunderbolts and lightning which, as any fule kno, are very very frightening MEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Lovely and warm. I could go out on the balcony and work.

Grrrrrrrrrrinnnndddddd. Hammer hammer. Grrrrrrrrinnnnnnddddd. The constant symphony of nearby home improvement projects. There's a house behind ours, I swear they've been doing this since we moved in eight years ago.

OK, maybe not.

Well currently I am in Prague at 26 and getting hotter. Forecast for the wedding on Saturday is low 30s!  I have an English suit with me!

I never thought I'd find myself saying this, but I'd consider staying at work overnight.
Aircon, y'see.
There's a couple of big comfy sofas in the boardroom.......
And a decent kebab house and offy at the end of the road....

I'd really quite like to be underwater.  Or in a cleanroom.

My end-of-day swim is pleasant, though the weather seems to be bringing out the usual endflummellers and lane-blocking water-thwaking flubber merchants. They should put sharks in the pool, let them pick off the slow movers pour encourager les autres.

My hayfever has been horrendous this week. I'm going camping this weekend...

I might actually die!

This.  I'm certainly going to need some Performance Enhancing DRUGZ for the velodrome.

Not normally a sufferer, but this year I'm getting hit, eyes mainly,  but yesterday I was sneezing all round my evening ride.

For sleeping arrangements, we have completely de-togged, I will be sleeping under a sheet until oct/nov whilst Mrs ED will flirt with both sheet and duvet

I am now at a wedding venue high in the Czech mountains. The weather has gone in 30 minutes from 28degC and sunshine to full cloud, big temperature drop and the most amazing thunder and lightning show.
I am sat here with a blanket round me drinking coffee and enjoying an amazing sound and light show.
