Yes, That place in Spalding again (Can't remember its name).

Starting to look like another good day is on the cards. Who-ho!

Yesterday the average speed took a big hit when Steve went into the edge of Leicester, I think. Perhaps worth not doing that again!

Looks like a +200 miles day is on the cards and not too late a finish which is a good sign of things to come.

I'm considering riding over there at the weekend.
A pilgrimage, if you will.

(The Farm Cafe, Fleet Hargate. Can't believe this review- must have been following a TG visit and he'd cleaned 'em out.)

Looks to be really shifting along last hour or so---speeds 18-20mph; is this a gravitational pull exerted by MK base or is Steve `letting Genie out of bottle` today?

Visited the Fleet Hargate cafe on one of Steve and RichForrest's September 600s.  Strange place.  The only place in recent memory that I've seen selling Golliwogs!

(I had one of their huge breakfasts but that didn't turn out well for me - not through any fault of theirs I should add - my digestive system shut down and I eventually chucked it (and everything else I'd eaten that day) up in Biggleswade around tea time ).

Or is it the gravitational pull of Marsh Gibbon?

Tailwind, according to the forecast.

Steve has pulled a blinder these last two days. Mostly tailwind yesterday and partly tailwind today.

Good. Steve needs to up his average speed to get the mileage he needs within a reasonable time.

Yep, I'd say those reviews of the Famous Farm  Cafe are pretty accurate. The kitchen , food and associated buildings could be best improved by a good  dose of bulldozer.

Down here, the weather is perfect cycling conditions. I played football at lunchtime, it wasn't remotely character building.

Beautiful day in Dorset as well.

It looks like another big day today. Although yesterday was only the 4th biggest distance. The top 3 were all in January - the longest to date was the return trip from Hoppo's, 2nd longest getting up there, and 3rd longest New Year's Day. All soon to be eclipsed we hope

Warmer weather and longer days helps to increase the average speed.  I'm not doing anything like Steve's mileage but I've been doing roughly the same amount each month and in the last couple of rides I've felt my speed, power, and general well-being improving.  As its not down to the training I put it down to climate.

(And the same thing happens in reverse in November, when some b*&*er goes round and makes all the hills steeper)

All the same I'm still glad that Steve is proving his theory correct - that he will speed up as the weather improves.  And at 180 miles before it gets dark, all I can repeat is:

Go Steve!!!!

Well, he's certainly not for turning.

Excellent work, host and maintenance wallah!

It has indeed been a lovely day. I went out this morning with the Southend Municipal Tuesday Group and my 17.49 miles came in at an average speed to 11mph - over 20% up on my recent averages!  :D :D I haven'd done that for a while. Hopefully some of my alacrity will find its way to Steve. A 20% increase for him will take him up to about 18mph.

There's a big difference between Steve's and Kurt's tracker miles today at this stage:

Steve: 197

Kurt: 110

The time difference is only 4 hours - until the end of this month.
