That's a new one on me - they're Spanish. It looks competent and well priced, with an emphasis on mapping and navigation rather than Garmin's metrics focus. I'm going to investigate further.

After a quick search, basic is £206. £215 if you want the option of the spare back that takes AA cells.

Extra mapping, eg TomTom GB & Ire £20.81. £6.46 each 3 month update. Full Europe £56.70, £27.99 per update.

OS maps are a little different. They are sold as 'Tiles" approx 20km square for £7.89 per tile. You go on the website, mark the tiles you want to buy.

They are 2011 release, so new roads since then won't feature.

A bit pricey for me.

OSM is also available for less than a fiver, and I'd prefer this over OS for small screen clarity (and I have the whole of the UK OS on my phone in ViewRanger anyway). The pricing is comparable with the Mio 315 (with their locked down mapping) and far from outrageous when compared to Garmin. Wahoo have the Element out soon at £280 for a black and white screen. Incidentally, over at cyclogps.com it's reported that Mio/Magellan has lost a key number of its skill-workers who developed the Cyclo range and it may well have reached the end of the road, so to speak.

Have you looked at the Teasi range from Germany?

http://www.teasi.eu/en/teasi-pro/

The navigation/mapping software developers are the same as Mio, e.g. gpstuner.

The price is crazy cheap compared to the big boys - £160 (via Rose in Germany) for the Pro version inc hrm and speed sensor. Interface looks interesting as well.
