Updating Flashplayer in Chromium under Debian Wheezy
« on: 13 December, 2015, 07:55:37 pm »
Updating flashplayer under Iceweasel (Debian's Firefox equivalent) is a pain, but seems to work, even though, each time, I seem  to be downloading the same file and reinstalling it (maybe it's a different one, just using the same name).

However, Mrs 109 likes to use Chromium, and I can't seem to get flashplayer to work with this.  What should I be doing?

You need the pepper flash plugin copied from Google Chrome, see https://wiki.debian.org/PepperFlashPlayer/Installing.

The same plugin is also a better bet for firefox than the current Adobe Linux version but needs a wrapper for firefox, see the link at the bottom of the same page.

Also https://wiki.debian.org/PepperFlashPlayer may be useful.

I need to do this for myself on a 14.04 LTS system.  I do currently use pepper flash on my main Gentoo box.
