*** ATTENTION *** different type of forward planning
A topic of conversation at the beer table in my absence - I have a Velodrome booking to confirm in the next few days or hand it back.
8pm on Wednesday 30th August.  Please indicate a level of interest NOW if you think you will want to go.

Tomsk, please let Dunmow Velo know and see what the level of interest is there.

Current plan is to book with 1 instructor and have to cap the session at 15.  At the recent session we in fact had 15 riders and it worked very well for track time and more advanced skilz.  A quorum of 10+ will work out similar to the last session financially.

Hands up now for provisional interest to encourage me to follow through and confirm the booking!!

If we have a cap on numbers at 15, I would be interested in attending the velodrome again. I think the session ran well last time, and overall works out better value in my view than having 2 groups.

As a proposal, could we include a timed 1km TT at the end? I'm sure with a bit of planning/instruction we could get multiple riders on the track preparing for their lap, slowing down, or flat out, so it wouldn't take much longer than the timed lap when we only had 2 out at a time.

Depends who is planning on coming I suppose.

Suits you and me nicely but not so much Tomsk etc.

No Jiber so Crown at Messing ?

Whilst I am on a rest week, I was considering a relaxing ride out somewhere....

I do fancy The Crown but it's a probably little too far considering I am in Birmingham Thursday, 95% chance of heavy rain not enticing me either...
Compasses @GT wasn't good last time I was in (R4H weekend), 2 beers on poor form and new bar staff in need of some training.

Maltsters was OK in a charming sort of way, but required serious lockage to secure the bikes plus it falls in to the trap of facilitating the evil forward planning.....

We haven't done 3 elms for a while ;)  Or perhaps a pub in Hatfield/Witham?

Or... I might just stay at home.

Long way to go for a green king pub ;)

Reviewing the weather again it appears to be good weather for ducks so I think I will be staying home tomorrow night

However I will probably be calling in to The Compasses (LG) on Saturday at some point on a merry 100km jaunt around my usual route through Essex....

Makes sense to go that direction after the Hurdlemakers last week.

I would have ridden in this morning had I known.  Will probably go for a short spin locally instead.

Next week ?

I didn't bring the bike in as I didn't fancy the walls of rain at 05:30 this morning with all my work stuff. Also my work from home plans have been revised and I need to be in London again tomorrow so I'll be staying in tonight....nothing to do with the forecast rain although

I'm still on the fence, a splodge over on fixed using a direct route might make me in for a pint....

Rain and general dampness today has somewhat curtailed gardening plans, so I might get a freewheel on in preparation for next week...

I fear it is raining purely because I have actually planned to ride with no mudguards this weekend!

I've seen BFC very early on a couple of mornings this week so it looks like he is on days so he might turn up.  In in Manchester so I doubt you'll see me this evening.

I will be at Spa Rd. Wet weather bike with dynamo has just had a minor service in anticipation of the shite weather.
