But if you tell people you're using a syringe, they will assume you mean a hypodermic...

(I have of course snaffled a handful of out-of-date syringes for the measured application of catalyst/adhesive/flux etc.)

TBH we'd been nicking the out of date syringes at previous visits too.

Today's find was £200 in cash in an envelope, in his top desk drawer, he had £0 in his wallet which Mum had been surprised by cos he historically pre-Covid had 'emergency cash'.

There's also some Covid PPE which I'll pinch a bit of but most aren't as good as the masks we have already.

Me thinks Karen and her neighbours shouldn't be driving if they can't park their vehicles on their drives around the abandoned car, there's clearly loads of space and it's not blocking the dropped kerb on either side. They sound like the sort of people who need a huge space and whine a lot.

Fitting brand new drop bar cable discs in 2024 is a peculiar act of masochism.

They exist for cheapskate OEMs, not people who have to ride them.

I am entirely happy with my cable operated discs on three bikes, a mix of BB7 roads, and TRP. All extremely easy to set up and maintain

I beg to differ, too. They exist for people like me who make a choice.

All flesh is grass...
[OT] Brahms German Requiem
Jewish Burial Service introduction...
It's from a psalm, I think?

No one got my All Cows Eat Grass reference, though...

Wiki discourse: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_flesh_is_grass
Thank you. Not a psalm but Isaiah.

Car parked on road in Swindon.

https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/24325971.abandoned-car-can-stay-swindon-street-dvla-rules/

Local Karen is not happy.
The copy refers to the car as a Ford Zetec.
My understanding is that Zetec is a type of Ford engine.
No?

It may have scope-creeped to become a model in its own right?  Like C-Max did?

(Ob-rant about automobile molishers writing things on their cars that aren't the model name, so that when you try to report them for a parking offence, the DVLA database says no.  We had that with a Mitsubishi Barbarian, which I've since learned is actually a Mitsubishi L200.  You shouldn't have to be a petrilhead to complain about someone blocking a dropped kerb.)

A very good partnership for the 5th wicked by Essex has seen them to within 42 runs of their target. Still not in the bag, but looking hopeful.
