I'd dispute that Gwen Stefani is a pop pixie; too tall and too blonde.  Sheena Easton, on the other hand...

Q magazine described her as a "glamazon".

Can I at this point mention thinking bloke's crumpet Bettany Hughes?

Oh, I just did.

Sadly, I am old enough to remember when Thinking Man's Crumpet was Joan Bakewell. In fact, I think she was the original TMC.

Joan Bakewell was a babe.  But I'm not old enough to remember - I've seen archive footage  :D

I understand that my son-in-law, when very young, had an infatuation with Moira Stewart.

I'll see your Bettany Hughes and raise you a Dr. Alixe Bovey Not a conventional beauty but the camera loves her.

Agreed - I saw her on TV at the weekend.

Lauren Laverne. Sigh.

Damon.

Gerroff! I saw her first!

And yeah, I'll agree with Bettany Hughes & Dr Alice Roberts too. And most of the pixie-faced brunettes, especially if they've got a razor-sharp bob hairstyle

I'll also add Joanne Whalley - initially as 'Grease-me-up' Nurse Mills in The Singing Detective and later as Christine Keeler in Scandal :P

I also like pixie-types. For the longest time, I was totally smitten by the Fremch-Chinese girl I met on a school French exchange, but she didn't notice, at least not until it was too late. Bjork would have done for me... I like independent, creative, quirky and a hint of danger too.

But these days I am married to an independent, creative, quirky and slightly dangerous pixie-sized (Japanese) brunette, so I no longer have any need for secret crushes!

Crikey I think all of my secret crushes have been listed by others, including the ones that made me think I was weird and will remain secret.

Did you people never watch Blakes Seven ::-)  Soolin, and Servalan???

Also, Harriet Wheeler from The Sundays - mainly because of her angelic voice.

And it's a shame computer screens aren't tall and thin otherwise I'd have that foxy Diana Rigg picture as my desktop.

I suspect a few Bond Girls are on the list somewhere.

One of Mrs. Q's mates :o

I get the whole darked haired pixie vibe going on

Favourites from the movies: Zhang Ziyi and Amy Adams.  Pwoarrrr :-*
