If you've still not made up your mind, it's worth noting that Condor have run out of the '08 Tempo, at least in size 55. I now need to wait until December to get my '09 version. It's a different colour, but otherwise unchanged. £50 more expensive though, now £750 without mudguards.

The Genesis Skyline isn't included in the Genesis '09 brochure, they've just got the Flyer as their only fixed road bike.

Well, I spent a long day trekking round Cycle 08 and being somewhat disappointed by what was on offer.  However, I did get the chance to look at the Pearson's bikes 'in the flesh' (so to speak) and it looks as though my new bike will be a Pearson's Hanzo, with one or two personal touches.

And why not.

That saves me from temptation... for a month or two, anyhow.  Any idea what the new colour might be?

By the looks of a photo over at ACF in this thread: London Bike Show 08 - Page 1

It's a metallic blue that looks rather nice. (The Tempo is the bike below the Orange Viner).

However, I thought my Tempo was going to come in the deep red/rust colour but the first batch came through as pillar box red. Didn't care though.

I quite liked the look of the Tempo - but the price is way too high for what you get.

The Pearson Hanzo is of similar quality but £250 less!

I was very tempted with the two Pearsons from last year and this year - but they don't them with straight handle bars.
A shitter and a giggler.

I'm going to have bullhorn courier bars on mine.

Jeans with a rolled up leg are just sooooooo 2007, darling!  Nowadays it simplay has to be Rapha Fixed Shorts... preferably with the tweed detail.

The Pearson Hanzo is of similar quality but £250 less!

Granted you'll be paying more for branding with the Condor than the Pearson but nowhere near £250. The majority of the extra money can be traced to better quality components (FSA chainset vs Miche Primato) or frame (the Hanzo's "double-butted steel" vs the Tempo's triple butted Dedacciai SAT 14.5 tubing).

Don't get me wrong, the Hanzo is still a lovely bike.

Right - new bike ordered!

Pearson Hanzo with 44cm courier bars, mudguards and a rack.  Brooks B17 Special Saddle in Honey, with matching bar tape.  18t freewheel and 18t fixed.  28c Gatorskins on Ambrosio wheels.

Now I only have to wait the 1-2 weeks for it to be assembled and ready for me...  :(

I didn't go for a respray in the end.  I had been thinking of British Racing Green, which the saddle and bar tape would set off nicely.  ;)

Pearson Hanso ...

Well, the wait should be long enough for you to learn how to spell the name of your new bicycle ;D

And it would look much better in a classy BRG, without the faux-oriental graphix*

* spelling used cause it's probably achingly hip and I don't know ;D

Can't help but think Regulator is just copying me. Ting Ting closely resembles my Airborne and his Hanzo is only mildly different to mine. Next he will have a half share in a Dawes Tandem!  ;D

Would Mr. R be the stoker or the pilot?  :-*

Regulator - please can you post a review when you get the bike. I was looking at the Condor Tempo but I think it will be £750 next year which I can't justify, so I am now looking at a Pearson Hanzo. I would also be interested how tall you are and what size you went for as I will be buying without trying.

Any other Hanzo riders please feel free to post a review!

Cheers

Stephen

I... ahem... happened to be passing Condor this afternoon, and popped in to take a look.  Very attractive bike indeed, but they're apparently now out of stock for everything except the smallest and largest sizes.

May have to go back in a month or two to take a look at the blue...

I picked up my Tempo in Feb 2007. Bikejournal tells me I've done 9,598.7km on it. :) :) :)
