Another pub, rescued by the locals, that might be worth a visit at some point.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-23801849
It doesn’t matter where you start. Just start.
Tonight, huggy and I will be visiting the Compasses at Littley Green, via a slightly circuitous (100km) route as part of a gratuitous hunt for teh shiny!ETA at the compasses between 9:30pm and 10:00pm.
Maldon is fine by me. Queen's Head is good too - is this the only pub of that name to feature Anne Boleyn on the sign? [Good ol'Essex Girl, despite not being orange ]
Who was that in the blue YACF jersey I saw outside Howbridge School on Monday?
But on the other hand

Not sure what he'd be doing around that area, mind you. Further afield, there's TimC, but I guess he's even less likely to have been in the vicinity. Hmmmm

Probably 8:30 at the earliest for me....I should be able to set off by 7:30 tonight, so depending on route, we could easily be there (pub or chippy (doesn't look like this any more, but is still in the same place ) by 8:30-8:45-ish. I see that there is a preference for not too many miles among the members of the Witham crew, so perhaps something like this taking in Beacon Hill, North Hill and (via a gratuitous detour) Market Hill Maldon.
