Taken recently, but only processed properly today (still, after all this time, finding out how to get the best out of Lightroom):  it's about time Firbank Parish Council got themselves a new notice board...

We spent a long weekend in Normandy, dividing our time between restaurants and the cemeteries of the "D-Day Coast".

The (many) cemeteries make for a sobering visit, one which all politicians should make before pressing the "Go to War button".

All taken on my new Canon EOS 100D with basic "kit" 18-55mm.

Here are a couple for the folding bike lovers amongst you.  Rather elegant I think.

From Sunday:

Panos don't do too well on here.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Lunch time snapping:

I can now transfer straight from camera to ipad (wifi), tweak it using lightroom and then upload to drop box.
(Possibly also use the Lightroom cloud thingie, but I've yet to play with that).

It's about time someone let Boris Johnson down from that Zip Wire...he's looking thin.

It does have a quayside and a big ring for tying up boats and stuff.

A woodly wander, as is my wont, just in time to catch the harts-tongue ferns unfurling for the summer:

More, including the obligatory bluebells, here

Went round Lincoln with a camera at the weekend.  Lots to see and to record.  Got back last night and, while extracting my MiL's weekend paper from my shoulder bag,  dropped my camera, lens first, onto the kitchen floor.  Bits of the nifty fifty scattered across the floor and the body shows no sign of life.  >:(

Well, the photos are all safely on the SD card.

I'm not too sad about the bod, it is already 4 years old and has worked hard during that time, and has recently started misbehaving.  The lens is a sad loss, but it is a shockingly flimsy collection of bits of plastic snap-fitted together, so I was not surprised to see it dismantle itself on the floor.

I'll check what sort of cover we have on our home contents policy - we do have some sort of accidental damage cover, and the excess may be bearable enough.

It is such a trivial woe in the scheme of things and I am not going to worry about it. And when the right moment comes along I will find a replacement.
