not today but had an amazing trip to Botswana and South Africa last month
(how much was down to having the right kit and being driven to the right place? Quite a lot, to be honest.)
Some great shots of birds with various meals.
My Dad is a bird photographer and I know just how gear-dependent that is, razor-sharpness is everything and that doesn't come cheap.
However camera gear never decided to fly out to Botswana or sit in a Hide for hours/days at a time waiting. It still needs a photographer.
Luckily, for my wallet, it's not a branch of the hobby that interests me although I love looking at the images from people who do it. (Not even my own father will lend me his Canon 300mm f/2.8 II)
I expect anyone who does it has a different level of respect for the people who film for the Attenborough programmes*
*Their unbelievable level of quality makes it very difficult to compete with on the "Wow" factor of course.
