Well, when it comes to football, police forces that would normally shout 'no resources' find hundreds of officers to stand around every matchday.* Oddly, unlike traffic policing, no one demands those officers go and catch 'proper criminals.'
I suppose I wouldn't be surprised if the same applied to the courts.
*I know, they contribute to costs, though a quick Google says 'not very much' – direct policing for Tottenham Hotspur for instance cost £1.2 million of which they paid £62k (2017/2018).
